1st Team Captain:- Lee Shufflebotham Vice Captain:- Chris Pratt
2nd Team Captain:- Gareth Roters Vice Captain:- Iain fielding
3rd Team Captain:- Jay Riley
The club wishes the new Captains and Vice Captains all the best for the forth coming season. A massive thanks to all those out going Captains and Vices that did such a great job last year.
Club Officials
The club officials have been nominated and appointed and a couple of changes are to note.
Vice Chair is now Gill Blyth who replaces Jon Bardsley, JB continues in his role as grounds man, and needs some dry weather to get the pitch sorted. A full list of officials is posted in the club.
The following people were elected to honorary life members.
· Bob Parry
· Derek Dunn
· Tom Shufflebotham
· Graham Yarwood
The real benefit of being a life member is Will Musset can no longer chase these people for their annual subscription. This has surely got to be worth a life time of contribution and work to the club.
If you wish to nominate anyone to life membership their name must be with the Executive Committee, by the November Executive Committee meeting.
Junior Development
The junior indoor winter league is in mid season with the under nines A’s and B’s completing all of their matches with more wins than losses. On every occasion the nines made a great account of themselves and beat some strong teams such as Denton, Dukinfield and Ashton.
The under elevens started their season well with a fantastic win over Dukinfield on the 15th January. A very close match, with BB winning by just 4 runs. Not bad against a team that has a district player on their side, who we bowled out. The second match against Droylsden was a draw, with both teams scoring 122 runs.
The following players are nominated by the club to attend the Lancashire district trails that started in January.
Under 13s - Jacob Cunliffe,Ross Blyth Seb Croft,
Under 11s - Rory Heydon, George Roberts
Two junior BB players Seb Croft & Rory Heydon are also through to the Cheshire excellence selection for the first time. If successful this will give them a place in the Cheshire County squad.
There has been plenty of dialogue in the league and it has been voted that the following age groups will be compulsory Under 11s, Under 13s, Under 16s. The club has not decided what we will do about the 17s and whether there are enough to have an independent voluntary league, more information to follow.
Coaching news
Two more club members are attending a level two coaching course this winter:-
There is also a special Cheshire Coaches course being run in May for Level 2 coaches, more information to follow.

Winter nets has started on Sunday evenings from 6.00pm till 7.00pm, two nets are reserved for the youth teams who have an alternating programme. The other two nets are for the seniors, at a cost of £3.00. So seniors dust off your pads and box and come along.
We have invited three of the under nines who can bowl a line a length who can’t believe how hard some seniors can hit the ball.
