1st XI (H) vs Dinting - 2nd XI (A) vs Dinting - 14/06/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 14-06-14

Dinting 1st XI travelled to Broadbottom, Dinting batted first and suffered from a slow start posting 158 all out, J Massey hitting 43 and P Seville 57 while Jay Riley took 4-48 and Hayden Roters 6-53. Broadbottom then saw Ryan Welsh hit an unbeaten 76 and Chris Pratt 34, they passed their target for the loss of 4 wickets, finishing on 162-4

1st XI (H) vs Compstall - 2nd XI (A) vs New Mills - 31/05/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 31-05-14

The 1st XI hosted Compstall at home who won the toss and decided to bat. The 1st XI bowled out visitors Compstall for 96 with 4-25 from Danny France, 3-23 from Jay Riley, and Chris Cheetham-Roberts taking 3-7. Ryan Welsh hitting 58 in reply saw the 1st XI knock off Compstall's total for 5 wickets.

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 31-05-14

The 2nd XI traveled to New Mills in what was described as an intense and nail biting fixture. The 2nd's were bowled out for 88 by hosts New Mills. New Mills did just enough and limped to victory as H Roters took 4-21. New Mills finishing 89-9 in the last over of the game.

1st XI (A) vs Dove Holes - 2nd XI (A) vs Dove Holes - 24/05/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 24-05-14

The 1st XI travelled to Dove Holes but due to heavy rain no match was played. Both teams take 7 points to the League Table.

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 24-05-14

The 2nd XI were set to host Dove Holes at home but due to a waterlogged pitch and persistent rain no match was played. 7 points awarded to each team for the abandoned game.

1st XI (A) vs Tintwistle - 2nd XI (H) vs Tintwistle - 17/05/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 17-05-14

The 1st XI travelled to Tintwistle and were bowled out for just 79 runs with ex professional and current Derbyshire Academy Coach A J Harris taking all 10 wickets for 24 runs.

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 17-05-14

The 2nd XI hosted Tintwistle at home who were bowled out for 100 runs, Steve Croft taking 3-18. An unbeaten Jackson Welsh with 45 and Dom Perrin with 40 saw the 2nd XI cruise to victory with only 1 loss of wicket.

1st XI (H) vs Old Glossop - 2nd XI (A) vs Old Glossop - 10/05/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 10-05-14

Despite a sterling effort from the 1st XI and ground staff, unfortunately no game was played at home due to poor weather and an incredibly saturated outfield. After a 2 hour attempt  to revive the outfield the skies opened once again which led to the difficult decision to call of the match. Both teams took 7 points for the abandoned match.

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 10-05-14

The 2nd XI traveled to Old Glossop and were put into bat by the opposition. Rain eventually stopped play despite efforts from Gareth Roters & Jackson Welsh both managing to secure their first 50's of the season.

1st XI (A) vs Hayfield - 2nd XI (H) vs Hayfield - 03/05/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 03-05-14

The 1st XI travelled to Hayfield and were elected to bowl. Hayfield hit their way to a total of 321-5 S. Furness hitting 77, K. Sharpe 66, R. Evans 40, G Davis 30 not out and G Wood 39 not out. In a nail biting run chase Aaron Walsh hit 43, Ryan Welsh 110 and Rick Barron 43 but 3-66 from M Proctor and 5-69 from B Higginbottom saw the 1st XI bowled out for 293.

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 03-05-14

Our 2nd XI were triumphant at home as Hayfield collapsed to 105 all out with Dave Stelfox taking 3-31, Olly Roberts 3-11 and Steve Croft 3-5. Chris Pratt then made 51 not out and Dom Perrin 33 as the 2nd XI made light work of the chase ending on 106-2.

1st XI (H) vs Woodley - 2nd XI (A) vs Woodley - 26/04/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 26-04-14

Broadbottom 1st XI batted at home to Woodley and posted a total of 174 all out as John Dodd hit 36 and Jay Riley 68 while J Trowsdale took 4-38 and D Hotson 4-51.  Despite 53 from D Oldland Woodley fell to 112 all out, with Danny France taking 3-27 and John Rowbothom 3-15. 

 

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 26-04-14

The 2nd XI travelled to Woodley and bowled them out for 148, S Richards hitting 65 and Steve Croft taking 4 wickets.  The 2nd XI then came up short in their reply despite 37 from Steve Croft, with P Harris and C Hayes both taking 3 wickets

Opening game... 1st XI (A) vs Whaley Bridge - 2nd XI (H) vs Charlesworth - 19/04/14

Broadbottom 1st XI - 19-04-14

The 1st XI travelled to promoted side Whaley Bridge and batted first with Chris Cheetham-Roberts hitting 83, Aaron Walsh 43 and Ryan Welsh 41 in a total of 239-8.  D Jones taking 4-85 and C Holden 3-47 for the home side.  Whaley then struggled to 139 all out, C McIlveen scoring 44 and J Beverage 38 but that was the only resistance as Danny France took 6-37.

Broadbottom 2nd XI - 19-04-14

The 2nd team hit  to 210-6 at home against newly promoted Charlesworth, Andrew Watts hitting 73 and Hayden Roters 44 not out as O Edge took 3-29 for the visitors.  M Barlow hit 30 in the Charlesworth reply, but 4-7 from Reece Dooley saw them bowled out for 99
